Looks like the rain went away and the weather forecast is predicting just a slight 10% chance for tomorrow - March 10th. Therefore baseball is ON!
If it does start to rain, please don't automatically assume your game is rained out. Teams should report to the field ready to play at their scheduled game time except if ONE of the following is true:
1 - The field has been deemed "Closed" by the SF Rec and Park department via their field rainout report
2 - A division commissioner has informed coaches via email that the field is not playable
3 - The SFYBL website has a news posting stating that a specific field is “closed"
In the event that it starts to rain while you are in the middle of a game and you are in the Mustang, Bronco or Pony division, it will be up to the umpire to "call" an end to the game if conditions become unsafe to continue play. If you are in the Shetland or Pinto division and you do not have an umpire, it will be up to the coaches to mutually agree when it has become unsafe to continue play.
NOTE: Once a field has been "closed" by RPD, it will remain closed for the remainder of the day.
Games on turf fields may still be open for play even though it has rained earlier in the day. But, check the RPD “rainout report” to be sure. If it is closed, then it’s too wet to play.
