SFYBL will be fielding summer All-Star teams in the 8U-14U age groups. Try-outs will be in an open format, meaning all players who played in at least 50% of their regular season SFYBL games (rainouts don't count) during the 2017 spring season are welcome to try-out. PLAYERS ARE ONLY ELIGIBLE TO TRYOUT FOR AN ALL-STAR TEAM  IF THEY ARE OF LEGAL AGE FOR THEIR DIVISION AND THAT TEAM WILL BE COMPETING IN THE DIVISON IN WHICH THEY PLAYED DURING THE REGULAR SPRING 2017 SEASON .

FOR EXAMPLE:

- 8U aged players that played in the PINTO Division in Spring of 2017 are eligible to try-out for the PINTO 8U team (NOT the MUSTANG-9U team).

- 8U aged players that played in the MUSTANG Division in the Spring of 2017 are eligible to tryout for the MUSTANG-9U team (NOT the PINTO 8U team).

- 10U aged players that played in the BRONCO Division in the Spring of 2017 are eligible to tryout for the BRONCO-11U team (NOT the MUSTANG-10U team).

TRYOUT REGISTRATION :  To register for the tryouts, please fill out the online form via this link 2017 All-Star Tryout Online Registration Form.

All-Star try-outs will be held at Silver Terrace from 3:30pm-6:30pm on the dates listed below.  To be considered for one of the teams, candidates are required to attend at least one of the sessions for their age group. However, it is recommended that players attend both sessions for their age group if two sessions are offered.

Pinto 8U – Monday, May 8th AND Friday, May 12th

Mustang-9U & Mustang-10U – Tuesday, May 9th AND Wednesday, May 10th

Bronco-11U & Bronco-12U – Wednesday, May 10th AND Thursday May 11th

Pony-13U & Pony-14U – Friday, May 12th

COMMITMENT : If your child is selected to be on of one of our summer all-star teams, a significant time commitment to summer baseball is required. The teams will practice at least 2 days per week for 2 hours.  You can expect to be involved in tournaments almost every weekend starting with a possible tournament on Memorial Day weekend through the end of July. If you are not prepared to dedicate this type of time to a baseball team this summer, please DO NOT try out. Also, if you accept the invitation to be on one of our teams, we expect that this team will be your priority over all other commitments, and above any other baseball teams your child might be involved with this summer. For the benefit of the team, SFYBL and All Star coaches will not tolerate practice or game absences to play for other baseball teams.

COST : If selected, each player will be expected to pay $200 to cover tournament and uniform costs. SFYBL will be hosting its own summer 8U-12U baseball tournament at Kimball Field on June 8th-11th. All-Star players parents will be expected to donate 4 hours of time helping out at concessions, field prep, etc. OR pay $150 exemption fee.

TOURNAMENTS: In preparation to compete in the National PONY All-Star Tournament, all SFYBL PONY Leauge Summer All-Star teams will participate in 3 to 4 local bay area tournaments starting the last weekend of May through the end of June. SFYBL will be hosting one of these tournamnets in San Francisco at Kimbell Fields on June 7th-11th. The National PONY Tournament starts the first of July for all ages. Below are the dates for the advanced stages of the PONY tournament, but teams must first advance through SECTIONALS and REGIONALS to compete in the SUPER REGIONALS. The specific dates for many SECTIONALS and REGIONALS are not published yet as leagues are finalizing how many teams per age group they will have.
